Best Charlottesville Wedding Venues

The ultimate luxury wine and country experience of the area

Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards

Listed among the Top 10 Destination Wedding Venues in the US by Martha Stewart, Pippin Hill is one of the top venues in the Charlottesville area. Its picturesque vineyard views atop a hillside are second to none, and its award-winning wines and cuisine only add to the experience. Pippin Hill can accommodate up to 200 guests for a ceremony on the Main Lawn and reception in the climate-controlled Granary, and the gorgeous Veranda is weather protected in case of inclement weather or colder months, so you can have peace of mind no matter the weather. What sets Pippin Hill apart is its intentional design by its founders, one of whom is a former wedding planner. Each room and detail was thoughtfully created to make sure that your day and experience will flow perfectly.

An immersive luxury experience steeped in history and picturesque surroundings

Keswick Hall

Keswick Hall is the epitome of Southern charm and elegance. It can accommodate both intimate gatherings and lavish affairs ranging from 50 to 400 guests. The historic Keswick Hall itself was built as an Italianate mansion in 1912 and in 2022, now owners Molly and Robert Hardie re-opened the property with luxurious, modern designs and spaces while giving a nod to the treasured history of this mansion. The property offers beautiful views of rolling hills, manicured gardens, an inviting infinity pool, and world-class golf facilities. The best part is that all weddings include farm to table dining by renowned French Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Needless to say, there is a lot to love. If you are looking for a wedding venue with history, scenery, gourmet food, and exceptional service, Keswick Hall may be the perfect spot for you!

An enchanting and timeless backdrop for the extravagant soiree and also intimate affairs

The Clifton Inn

The Clifton Inn is one of my all-time favorite venues. If saying your vows at an elegant historic inn with timeless beauty and extended time with family and friends is what you desire, look no further than The Clifton. It’s the perfect spot for both intimate affairs in their Secret Garden to grand celebrations of 200 guests under the sailcloth tent. The best part is that it also offers accommodations for up to 40 people, so you don’t have to keep your wedding to just an evening affair. Getting all your closest family and friends together in one place is no easy feat. Why not spend the whole weekend together relaxing by the infinity pool, walking the picturesque gardens, and enjoying fine dining at their 1799 Restaurant? This type of quality time with loved ones is priceless.

The best choice for the largest celebrations, any time of year!

Castle Hill Cider

Castle Hill is a spectacular venue with a rich history dating back to the 18th century. Its 11,000 square foot climate-controlled Cidery Barn accommodates up to 350 guests, making it the largest indoor reception space in the area! There are both indoor and outdoor ceremony location options in the barn loft and picturesque Linden Grove. With miles of beautiful white fencing, pebble paths, a quaint lake, and picturesque orchards and rolling vineyards, there are few other venues that look so grand and beautiful. Their wine-like dry ciders offer a unique touch and will please cider and wine lovers alike. If you are looking for an enchanting venue that offers ample space for the biggest party of your lives, as well as a scenic blend of history, beauty, and love, Castle Hill Cider might be it for you!

Breathtaking beauty and elegance in a private estate

Keswick Vineyards

With rolling hills on one side and the historic Edgewood Estate House and ornate white fountain on the other, I find Keswick Vineyards to be one of the most beautiful backdrops for wedding photographs. With multiple ceremony location options, beautiful getting ready suites in the mansion, and accommodations for up to 200 guests in their elegant Aurora sailcloth tent, this place is sure to please. One of the special things about Keswick Vineyards is that their wedding venue space is separate from their tasting room, so you can enjoy the property in complete privacy on your wedding day. Couples have also shared that owners Cindy and Al Schoernberg treat them like family. With this blend of natural beauty, exclusive property use, and fine wines, Keswick Vineyards is the perfect spot for your unforgettable day!

An old world luxurious Italian villa right in the heart of Virginia

Monte Ventoso

There is nothing like Monte Ventoso. Europe is my favorite place to travel to and I’ve been to Italy 3 times. Monte Ventoso literally looks like it came straight out of the heart of Tuscany. This stunning 17-acre private estate can accommodate 200 wedding guests and the mansion sleeps 14. The special thing about Monte Ventoso is that it was inspired by a vision to create a place for love, laughter, family gatherings under the stars, and endless wine. It is the ultimate luxury experience for those who love the feel of an old world Italian villa. It’s a place where time seems to stand still and you can be fully present with the people you love, enjoying the best gifts life has to offer.

Whimsical, lush garden wedding and dancing under the stars

Market at Grelen is the ultimate canvas for your dream wedding of elegance with a touch of whimsy. Say "I do" surrounded by the serene Blue Ridge Mountains, rolling orchards, and beautifully manicured gardens on this 1000-acre tree nursery. From getting ready in the newly renovated and beautifully lit Magnolia Cottage to a variety of enchanting ceremony spaces, such as the picturesque Berry Field or the serene Shade Garden, the possibilities here are endless. One of the most unique features is the Orchard Overlook Tent. With its clear top and retractable sides, your reception can be transformed into a starlit wonderland, accommodating up to 250 guests. Dine under twinkling lights and dance the night away in an atmosphere of enchantment and splendor. The Market at Grelen provides a timeless and picturesque backdrop for your special day.

Award winning winery with stunning views and Event Hall

Early Mountain

Early Mountain Vineyards has an award winning tasting room on a picturesque estate across 305 acres. The Event Hall is one of the most stunning in the area, and its vaulted ceilings and dramatic fireplaces are incredible backdrops for receptions and ceremonies alike any time of year. The Event Hall opens onto the Great Lawn, perfect for ceremonies and cocktail hours of up to 200 guests. The panoramic mountain views, manicured vineyards, and hydrangea gardens offer beautiful spots for first looks and portraits. Finally, for couples who love good food, Early Mountain offers exquisite seasonal farm-to-table cuisine by Executive Chef Tim Moore. If you are looking for a venue with natural beauty, stunning indoor spaces, refined warmth, and exceptional wine and food, Early Mountain Vineyards might be just right for you.

A collection of 4 distinct private and scenic venues

Mt Ida Farm & Vineyard

If you're looking for a venue that has it all, look no further. Mt Ida is not just one venue, but a collection of 4 distinct private venues offering panoramic mountain views, historic estates, elegant barns, or an exquisite waterfront gazebo. Ceremonies and receptions can be held indoors or outdoors at a variety of locations for up to 300 people. The venues include The Lodge, The Event Barn, Water’s Edge and The Tasting Room at Mt Ida Reserve. My personal favorites are the Tasting Room and Lodge for the stunning mountain views.

A place is just a place until you bring the meaningful moments of your story

Choosing the perfect wedding venue is a big decision. It goes a lot farther than being a stunning backdrop for your ceremony.  The place you choose to exchange your vows is symbolic. It can become a place of meaning for you that reminds you of the commitment that you are making to each other. Your venue narrates the story of the day you begin your marriage and sets the stage for the environment where you, your family, and friends will celebrate. It's not just a place. It becomes an experience and memory in the making.

There are so many great Charlottesville wedding venues and it can be so challenging to decide! If you find yourself loving several venues on this page and having trouble with your decision, I'd be happy to talk you through it. As a Charlottesville resident for the last decade and a wedding photographer here since 2019, I am hugely devoted to this community and area and would love to welcome you in!
