Keswick Vineyards Weddings: Top Notch Vineyard Experience on a Historic Estate

Keswick Vineyards weddings are unforgettable. With rolling hills on one side and the historic Edgewood Estate House and ornate white fountain on the other, I find Keswick Vineyards to be one of the most beautiful backdrops for wedding photographs in the Charlottesville area. With multiple ceremony location options, beautiful getting ready suites in the mansion, and accommodations for up to 200 guests in their elegant Aurora sailcloth tent, this place is sure to please. One of the special things about Keswick Vineyards is that their wedding venue space is separate from their tasting room, so you can enjoy the property in complete privacy on your wedding day. Couples have also shared that owners Cindy and Al Schoernberg treat them like family. With this blend of natural beauty, exclusive property use, and award-winning wines, Keswick Vineyards is the perfect spot for your wedding day!

Brief History

The land of Keswick Vineyards has a rich history that dates back to the 1700s. It is located in Virginia Wine Country at the historic Edgewood Estate close to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. The nearby Southwest Mountains are home to the presidential estates of James Monroe and James Madison as well. 

The current owners Cindy & Al Schornberg purchased it in 2000 to create a family-owned and operated winery. By 2002, Keswick produced a wine that won “Best White Wine in America,” and in 2009, their 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon won another award. It’s been a long list of awards since then, right up to 2023, where Keswick’s 2019 Cabernet Franc and “Trevillian Red” and five other wines won awards.

Keswick Vineyards weddings can accommodate up to 200 guests, and every detail from majestic gardens to the rolling fields is sure to impress. This wedding venue has a wide selection of wedding ceremony and event spaces that you can use for your celebration.

The Vineyard

Say your vows among the vineyard crops during your wedding ceremony at the Vineyard in Keswick Vineyards. This space offers panoramic views and adds a natural flair to your celebration. It offers the quintessential vineyard wedding experience.

The Outdoor Water Fountain 

You can also host your wedding celebration at the Outdoor Water Fountain. This fountain looks like it came straight out of an Italian villa and adds a classy, European-inspired flair to your celebration. It’s my personal favorite! This wedding ceremony space is the perfect mix of elegance and fairytale romance and can also be used for your cocktail hour.

Lawn Next to the East Wing of Edgewood Estate

Right next to the East Wing of Edgewood Estate is a lovely smaller lawn that you can use for your celebration. This space is perfect for small and intimate weddings. You’ll love the natural beauty on display here.

The Carriage House Lawn

The Carriage House Lawn is perfect for relaxing and creates a whimsical atmosphere for your wedding. You can use this space for your wedding ceremony, too. The Carriage House Lawn is also great for cocktail hour.

The Aurora Tent

The authentic hand-stitched Aurora tent at Keswick Vineyards provides a lovely space for your wedding. It comes with solid wood posts, ambient lighting, custom floor plans, and great sweeping peaks that will give an elegant air to your celebration. This space is perfect for your wedding reception but is also a great bad-weather option as it can be weather-insulated for your ceremony.

All-Inclusive Rental

You’ll love the all-inclusive venue rental packages at Keswick Vineyards. It comes with access to the grounds, tables, chairs, lighting, and other things you might need for your wedding. The 12-hour rental window starts at noon and lasts till midnight, allowing you flexibility with ceremony and reception times.

Catering

Keswick Vineyards does not offer catering, but it has a list of trusted wedding caterers you can work with. These professionals have experience with the venue and will help your wedding day dining experiences run smoothly. 

Wine

Part of your Keswick Vineyards wedding cost will include wine from the venue. Couples are required to get a minimum of two cases, but the price for the vintage being served is well worth it. It’ll be one of the things you and your guests find most special about your wedding. 

Complimentary Bridal Suite and Groom’s Cave

Keswick Vineyards offers onsite dressing rooms in the mansion for you and your wedding party to get ready on your wedding day. There is also a groom’s cave where the groom and his party can relax and have a good time while getting ready for the celebration.

Accommodations

While Keswick Vineyards does not offer onsite accommodation, nearby Keswick Hall has 80 guest rooms. It is also a short 15-20 minute drive to Charlottesville, where you have a large array of accommodation options.

Keswick Vineyards offers many lovely vistas and backdrops for your wedding day photographs. You’ll love the panoramic views, rolling lawns, glowing pools, and mature trees, and the incredible foundation in front of the mansion. From a photographer’s perspective, this venue is truly one of the most stunning in this region!

How Much Do Keswick Vineyards Weddings Cost?

Weddings at Keswick Vineyards cost between $9,000 and $15,000. However, this depends on the day of the week you choose for your celebration and whether it is peak wedding season or not.
